I am Andrew, the owner of Captured in VA — a Virginia Beach wedding photographer and videographer telling the stories of the people and moments that matter most across Hampton Roads and coastal Virginia
After being into photography for 15 years, I dove in to videography. This was a strategic move to better serve my clients’ evolving needs, providing them with powerful, dynamic tools to connect with their audiences in today’s visually-driven world. Crafting wedding films that capture authentic moments and corporate event videos that bring brands to life. Passionate about blending creativity with professionalism, I leverage cutting-edge equipment and unwavering dedication to deliver polished, heartfelt work every time.
One thing I love to do is travel. For the past ten years, I’ve made it a personal mission to travel to at least one new country each year—always with my camera in hand. From the vibrant streets of Italy, to the quiet beauty of Iceland’s landscapes, my lens has captured cultures, colors, and moments that shape how I see the world. My journey has taken me through the coastlines of Portugal, and the serene beaches of Turks & Caicos. Whether exploring a bustling city or a hidden corner of the world, I’m always seeking the stories that unfold in between—and it’s through photography that I get to tell them. Next on my list is Greece!
How I work
I shoot in a way that you would consider candid and journalistic: candid moments over stiff poses, real light over heavy filters, and images you’ll love just as much in twenty years as you do today. On the day itself, I stay calm and out of the way — ahead of the timeline, never in the middle of it — so the day feels like yours, not a photo shoot.
And because I do both photography and film, booking us means one coordinated team instead of two studios competing for the same moment.

I strive to keep that style and brand recognition when I am at your event or brand shoot. I work very closely with the brand to ensure we keep that magic.
